会展描述	In a bold gesture toward more engaged collaboration with other specialties, the STS Board of Directors presented a proposed Bylaws revision to the membership that would allow physicians who are not cardiothoracic surgeons to become STS Associate Members. At the Annual Business Meeting in San Diego, the membership unanimously supported the proposal. Associate Membership is open to the entire cardiothoracic team, including physician assistants, perfusionists, nurses, nurse practitioners, practice administrators, data managers, research scientists, non-physician health care professionals who support cardiothoracic surgeons, and now non-cardiothoracic surgeon physicians, such as anesthesiologists, cardiologists, and oncologists.
