Introduction
This course was designed to prevent boundary violations as a risk management course for your personnel and is available at your facility.
Course Goals
To prevent boundary and ethical violations in clinical settings by elevating a clinician’s knowledge and application of professional boundaries, thus improving ethical processing for the safe practice of medicine.
Course Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Define professional boundaries;
Differentiate and identify boundary drifts, crossings, and violations;
Understand the scope of harm that occurs with a violation;
Apply the Boundary/Ethics Formula? for maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
Measure risk factors and violation potentials;
Identify red flags of evolving ethical transgressions in oneself and others for early intervention and prevention;
Begin the process of developing and implementing a Stratified Boundary/Ethics Protection Plan? for personal and professional safety.
