 The American College of Legal Medicine announces that on January 1, 2004 after 22 years of stalwart leadership as Editor of the Journal of Legal Medicine, Theodore R. LeBlang, J.D., will assume the position of Editor Emeritus. LeBlang is Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Humanities at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, a faculty member at SIU’s School of Law, and Fellow and President-Elect of the American College of Legal Medicine.The new Editor of the Journal of Legal Medicine will be Marshall B. Kapp J.D., M.P.H., the current Deputy Editor. Kapp, a Fellow of ACLM, is Professor in the Departments of Community Health and Psychiatry at the Wright State University School of Medicine and a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Dayton School of Law. During the 2003-04 academic year, he is serving as the Arthur W. Grayson Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law and Medicine at the Southern Illinois University School of Law.Incorporated in 1960, the American College of Legal Medicine (ACLM) is a major national professional organization having as one of its objectives the fostering and encouragement of research and study in the field of legal medicine. The ACLM represents the specialty of legal medicine in the American Medical Association Specialty and Service Society.
