This one day interactive course will review latest advances in the minimally invasive surgical approach to common
general surgical problems.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe various techniques for hernia repair, including laparoscopic repair and component separation.
Identify which colorectal procedures are best suited for laparoscopy, and learn a variety of tips and tricks that can be applied to these procedures.
Discuss indications for bariatric surgery and describe the various surgical procedures offered to these patients.
Analyze the most common complications following bariatric surgery and how to manage them.
Integrate an understanding of minimally invasive approaches to common general surgical emergencies.
Formulate a plan for transitioning their practice to include more advanced laparoscopic techniques.
