Stockholm is built on 14 islands connected by 57 bridges and is considered one of the world’s most beautiful capitals. You can experience city life, culture and nature, all in the same day. In Stockholm you find the worlds´ first National City Park, “Ekoparken”, which is a 27 km2 large unique mixture of nature and culture right in the heart of the city. Among the landmarks worth visiting one can mention the Royal Castle, the beautiful City Hall, the Wasa Museum, the big open-air museum “Skansen” and a huge range of other museums and attractions, most of them within walking distance. The old town (“Gamla stan”), where Stockholm was founded in 1252, is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centres in Europe, and one of the central attractions in Stockholm. |
